Morrison Jackson

Lead Instructor
Morrison Jackson is an award-winning costume designer for theatre and has also worked in the Los Angeles film and garment industry. Originally from the Midwest, Morrison learned to sew from her home economics teacher and her mother and became interested in costume design when her mother took her to see Gone With the Wind in a movie theater. She financed her way into college with a job sewing production in a factory making uniforms for restaurants and cocktail lounges at the age of 15. She earned a BFA in Theatre and a BA in Fashion from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and an MFA in Drama with a focus in Costume Design from the University of Southern California. She has since designed costumes for many plays throughout Los Angeles.
Morrison has experience working in the garment industry as a pattern maker for kids and junior knit design houses and has worked in the entertainment industry sewing costumes for several movies and TV series. Her “biggest claim to fame” is the only costume created for a 4” tall Stuart Little! She has also created corsets for the Pussycat Dolls stage show in Las Vegas.

Recently, Morrison has been teaching in several fashion programs in the Los Angeles area before coming to The Little Sewing Room. We are excited to have just moved to Texas!
